Our yard had a hodgepodge of fences. Behind the house was a fenced in area that had a variety of fences – a small privacy fence, a chain link fence, a white post and rail fence with chicken wire over it, and a newer wood fence that matched the deck. We had the privacy fence, chain link fence, and post and rail fence removed. We kept the fence that matched the deck since it was in good condition. Also, we had more of the white post and rail fence along the street and part of the driveway. This area didn’t really fence anything, and it was old, so we had all of it removed.
It looks so much better with all the old mismatched fences removed. We haven’t decided how we want to install new fencing, so we’re holding off on that project for a while. We’ll probably fence in an area off the back of the house, but it won’t be located in the same place as the fence we had removed. We have some other outdoor projects that are higher on our to do list, so we’re not in a big hurry to decide on new fencing.
